Frequently asked questions

Feel free to share this page with any parent who has questions.

What does this tool actually do?

It gives students a short written prompt at the start of a lesson, then again at the end, and measures how their thinking developed during that one lesson, using AI-guided follow-up questions in between. It is a diagnostic layer, not a curriculum. It works alongside whatever you are already teaching.

What student information does it collect?

We never ask students for a name, email address, date of birth or contact details. Teachers assign a simple placeholder (like "Student 7"). Students do write in their own words, so please remind them not to include personal details. What they write, and their scores, are visible to the teacher and deleted automatically at the end of each semester. The placeholder names themselves reset once a year, at the start of a new school year.

How does the tool know my students' grade level?

You choose a grade band for the classroom. You can also set a grade for each individual alias, which is especially useful for homeschool families with children in different grades. Students never enter their own grade.

What happens to what a student writes?

Their score and reflection text are visible to you, the teacher, but reset at the end of each semester. Nothing is kept as a permanent record.

What if a student writes something concerning?

Every response is automatically checked. If something concerning comes up, it is shown on your dashboard so you can respond under your school's procedures, and the AI never acts on it alone. No automated check catches everything, so this supports your own duty of care and never replaces it.

Is this a graded assignment?

No. It is a low-stakes reflection tool, not a test, and it does not factor into a grade.
